Buster’s new B2B spare parts store serves retailers more efficiently

Buster is one of the best-known aluminium boat brands in the Nordics. The boats are manufactured at Inha Works in Ähtäri, which is also responsible for producing Yamarin and Cross boats. Selling spare parts and accessories to retailers is an important part of the business.

So, what do you do when your old online store no longer meets today’s needs and security requirements?

Buster’s retailer network spans several markets, and the availability of accessories and spare parts has a direct impact on the end customer’s boating experience. Orders need to flow smoothly, especially during peak season, when volumes increase. Digital solutions must support the business, not slow it down.

When the existing online store had reached the end of its technical and functional lifespan, Buster launched a new project on a tight schedule. “The platform has served us well, but it has reached its limits, and for security reasons we need to initiate a new project quickly,” says Artturi Niittynen, who oversees sales for Buster, Yamarin, and Cross.

At the start of the project, various ready-made eCommerce solutions were evaluated, but none of them met the specific needs of B2B sales in terms of orders, payments, or deliveries. Buster operates in multiple markets and currencies, which added further requirements for system flexibility. The solution was a tailored implementation developed together with Ambientia.

The collaboration kicked off during the busiest part of the season, with a tight schedule. Ambientia adapted the project workflow to fit Buster’s daily operations: meeting practices, planning, and implementation were designed with the customer’s needs in mind.

As with many projects, challenges and unclear moments arose along the way. At times, it wasn’t fully clear what exactly needed to be done or what the desired outcome was. When a situation required joint reflection, the team paused, discussed the options, and found the right path forward. Decisions were made quickly, keeping the project on track without major delays.

The new online store was launched in summer 2024, and it now supports retailers’ ordering processes more effectively than before. Feedback has been positive regarding both the user experience and the system’s reliability. Collaboration with Ambientia continues through ongoing maintenance.

“Support requests are handled quickly, and we’re pleased to now have a secure online store for our retailers,” Niittynen summarizes.
